How to succeed rather than fail in sports
Sports and learning how to succed with it is funny indeed. You can have a superb athlete who can’t find success. Then you could have an athlete who is average and yet they succeed. At first glance you can’t seem to explain it.But when you look closer you see the primary reason some have success while some fail is the mind. But why is that?In this article we are going to examine it a little closer.
So why does the mind play such a big factor in sports? As a sports psychologist San Diego I have been priveleged to see first hand why this is so.First thing to realize is the fact that the stereotype of big dumb athletes is false.Athletes really are some of the most intellgent people. And the ones that have the most success are the ones who have learned how to use their mind.
Funny thing a lot of athletes come in needing my anger managementcounseling practice.Quite a few times the anger begins because they have failures in sports. But what I can do is help them turn it around. The way to help them get back on track is to show them the reason for failure starts in the mind. By learning how to use their mind effectively they can achieve tremendous success. It has proven itself over time many times.
Once the athlete is truly able to understand the power their mind has they can achieve success. Most of the time they can achieve tremendous success. It is similar to how things are in life generally. The mind has so much impact on actions and results. I see it not just in the athletes I deal with but also with families. The family therapist San Diego practice I run I have used some of the same principles to help families achieve success. Success in overcoming whatever family struggles they may be having. In life including sports, the key most of the times is in your mind.
